HOLY SHIT!

It was scary today. Especially after school. Someone got shot by the police this morning because he was destroying cars and threatning the police with an axe.

This actually took place in my street and the whole street was blocked off by the police...I saw my school principals there as well and I had to talk with the police. I couldn't get into my house until at least an hour later, so I had to go back to school.
Also, my next door neighbours came with me, they're still young kids, still in primary school and the youngest was so scared and crying...I couldn't help but feel scared too. I heard earlier in school that the guy with the axe was shot dead by police because he ignored warnings. At first I couldn't believe it was in my street and friends were telling me: "Don't you live in Frank St., Aubrey?" So we checked [link] to see if it was true, and it was!

No one around the area was hurt, but still...it's pretty scary. I can't believe someone - who just lives right across to me and my neighbours - was acting like that....even if I was still at school at the time it's still terrifying to know someone dangerous is so CLOSE to you!

After staying at school for an hour, I was escorted back to my house with the police, it was pretty cool. My neighbours got to stay with their mother after she came to the school to pick them up. She also looked after me for a while too <3

It was exciting I guess, as I have never been in a situation like this - even if I wasn't part of it. Also, I suspected something was wrong, this morning at 5 I heard a loud crash and Dad went to check and saw this tall man walking around the street, he was the only one there. I think that may have been the one who got shot.

Edit! I just watched the news (I saw my house, lol ) and this guy is not a psycho or a whacko or anything. If you've read the articles, he's not crazy. This happened because of a neighbourhood dispute and the man may have been stressed because his aunt just died. He was described as a "quiet bloke" too, but it is yet unclear whether drugs or alcohol caused this as well.
